4 baking apples, such as Granny Smith
2 Tb cinnamon sugar
1 ts ground nutmeg
4 Tb butter


  1. Peel, core, and slice apples into thin slices. Divide evenly between four microwave-safe bowls.
  2. Divide remaining ingredients between bowls. Dot apples with butter and sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon sugar.
  3. Microwave on HIGH setting for 5-10 minutes, or until apples are tender but not mushy.

Serving suggestions

Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, or serve with sliced French bread and cheddar cheese.
