    Madeline helped me put in the hazelnuts, fig trees, goji berries, and asparagus today; reclaiming garden from English ivy and rock mulch is hard. So far, I am not a fan of periwinkle, forsythia, butterfly bush, and English ivy, and by “not a fan”, I mean “hate them with a fiery passion”.

  • Madeline and I set in the black and red currants while Marcus and Matthew pushed down a rotten tree. We just have the hazelnuts and goji berries left, which means I’m branching out, no pun intended, and ordering a few bayberries and elderberries while there’s still time to plant them before summer.

  • It finally warmed up enough to get more plants in the ground. Madeline helped me get the cherry and persimmon trees planted this evening, along with the two honeyberry bushes.
