Madeline helped me put in the hazelnuts, fig trees, goji berries, and asparagus today; reclaiming garden from English ivy and rock mulch is hard. So far, I am not a fan of periwinkle, forsythia, butterfly bush, and English ivy, and by “not a fan”, I mean “hate them with a fiery passion”.

Madeline and I set in the black and red currants while Marcus and Matthew pushed down a rotten tree. We just have the hazelnuts and goji berries left, which means I’m branching out, no pun intended, and ordering a few bayberries and elderberries while there’s still time to plant them before summer.

It finally warmed up enough to get more plants in the ground. Madeline helped me get the cherry and persimmon trees planted this evening, along with the two honeyberry bushes.
